nail polish julie g

As you may have heard by now Jessie’s Girl Cosmetics and JulieG  recently partnered together to create a JulieG Nail Color Collection.

I first saw the shades in a press release online, and there wasn’t really anything that caught my eye. Isn’t that crazy? I guess once you have been nail polish blogging for nearly 4 years, things have to be REALLY amazing to catch one’s eye! However, recently I was at Rite Aid and had a chance to see them for the first time in person, and there were a few that stood out. So I got ’em!

Pink Tiara is a rose pink glitter set in a pale rose pink base. This sucker is jam-packed with glitter in various sizes. It’s also my weekly macro feature this week! For a glitter that is as heavy as this one, I was pretty surprised how easily it applied. All the glitter stayed in place after a second coat, even though it was pretty thick. I did use three coats to get complete coverage. Unfortunately the brush was a little weird with this one, but the others were fine.

Julie G Nail Color (julie's Fave) Ingredients And Reviews

Butterflies & Rosebuds is a deep fuchsia pink shimmer. This is a really gorgeous glowy shade and looks even better in person. It verges on being a purple, but not quite. Reminds me of velvet. Great formula, this covered in two coats.

Mermaid’s Tale is a blue/green with yellow shimmer. This is another one I think is beautiful and looks much better in person. It goes between blue and green very nicely and is the perfect shade to have the word “mermaid” in it. This was three thin coats. It is extremely similar to Finger Paints Late Night Rendez-vous, Orly Halley’s Comet, Zoya Charla and NYX Be-Jeweled. Wow there are a lot of colors like this one out there, but it’s still pretty!

Dance In The Dark is what I classify as a blurple (or indigo). It’s a deep navy blue with blue and purple shimmer. It’s super dark and saturated, Be wary of stains on fingers, as you can see I was a bit messy with application, and it stained my cuticle area a bit. Great color though, it glows. This was three thin coats, but you could do two (I am a three-coater by nature).

Overall: So I did wind up really liking all four of these nail colors! I think the formula was really quite great with them all, better than you might expect from a less expensive brand. They all had really nice pigmentation as well.HEYYYY pretties! I’ve got three trios to share with you guys from Jesse’s Girl Julie G line! I have a strong connection to her line…I went wayyy out of my way to track down shades when I was a newbie blogger! & it was totally worth it!
